Mission / Impact

IAS provides children, youth, and their families – from all neighborhoods and backgrounds – with transformative learning through hands-on experiences in the visual arts.

Self-Discovery & Empowerment

When children and youth engage with art, they learn about themselves, the world around them, and are empowered to use their voice through creation.

Critical Skill Building

IAS programs guide children and youth to become more confident and engaged citizens and develop skills they need to excel, including critical observation, creative problem solving, and empathy.

Art is a powerful force for learning and expression at every stage of development.

IAS Programming

Through our programming we provide opportunities for our children and youth to learn, expand, and create – to go out into the world more confident, brighter, and more engaged.

Partners Make It Possible

Illinois Art Station provides children, youth, and their families – from all neighbors and backgrounds – with transformative learning through hands-on experiences in the visual arts. IAS especially strives to make these transformative experiences possible for young artists who have the least access otherwise. IAS regularly partners with aligned organizations, groups, and community resources in order to achieve this mission and best serve and inspire our Central Illinois young artists.
