What do you do with an idea? That is just what we will explore in this IAS/ Yoga Lab collaboration. Kids ages K-5th Grade will enjoy a yoga flow, games, and brainstorming what to do with their ideas during an indoor yoga hour followed by 1 hour of artmaking with Illinois Art Station. Caregivers will enjoy their own adult class outdoors on the beautiful grounds of Illinois Art Station, afterwards joining their kiddos for artmaking and time to connect.
“I like the fact that paper is a neutral vessel,” says New York-based artist Lauren Clay. “It’s something that we use to present proposals and ideas.”
Inspired by author Kobi Yamada’s book “What Do You Do With An Idea?” (2014) and the paper sculptures of Lauren Clay, young yoga artists and their adults will use their ideas (literally) to create eye-catching works of art (colorful shaving cream prints and gilded paper clay vessels) that celebrate their ideas of today and house their ideas of tomorrow.
