Classes & Camps

Illinois Art Station offers engaging and meaningful visual arts programs for children, youth, and teens. All IAS programs encourage young artists to explore different materials and techniques through drawing, painting, sculpture, and more! With a focus on creative expression, visual literacy, and skill development, IAS has something for every young artist!

Early Learning (Ages 3-5)

Itsy Arts

The building blocks of art making for our youngest artists! Children focus on exploring art materials, experimenting with line, shape, and color, and get the chance to create personal works of art.

Youth (Ages 6-12)

Art After 3PM

After school art exploration for children ages 6 – 12. Young artists will dive into all aspects of art making, discover how art can be used to explore different ideas, and create unique works of art that challenge them creatively and build their art making skills.

Art Elements (Homeschoolers Ages 8-16)

Art Elements is a 12-week program designed specifically for current homeschoolers that focuses on creative expression and skill development. Two sections (6 class sessions each) are offered every spring and fall. Student artists are welcome to take one or both sections in a season.

Teens (Ages 13-18)

Arts in Action

Ages 13 to 18

Teens will discover how art can affect change and make a difference, discuss topics that they care about, and create works of art that share their messages with the world.

Art Elements (Homeschool Students Age 8-16)

Art Elements is a 12-week program designed specifically for current homeschoolers that focuses on creative expression and skill development. Two sections (6 class sessions each) are offered every spring and fall. Student artists are welcome to take one or both sections in a season.

Camps

HoliDAY CAMP 2022 (FULL)

Join Illinois Art Station for a one day, drop off HoliDAY CAMP on Monday, December 19 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Enhance the holiday season with a full day of art exploration and creation with IAS educators.
Who: Young Artists ages 6-12 will paint, print, and paper craft while the adults in their lives check off their winter break to do lists.
Cost: $35 / young artist. Illinois Art Station operates according to a Pay-What-You-Can model for all classes, camps, and programs.
A morning snack will be provided. Artists must bring their own lunch. Food assistance is available for those who request it.
When: Monday, December 19 from 9:00 – 4:00 p.m. Early drop off available at 8:30 and late pick up available until 4:30 p.m.
Registration for HoliDAY CAMP at IAS is limited to (20) young artists. Deadline to register is Friday, December 19. Register at bit.ly/IASholiDAYCamp22
NOTE: If you are registering more than one young artist, a complete registration form must be submitted for each participating child.

Group Visits

GROUP VISITS

Interested in bringing your group to IAS? Fill out a Group Visit Request Form and an IAS Educator will be in touch!

Please note the following:

1. To qualify as a group, visit you must bring at least 5 young artists (age 3-18) to IAS.

2. IAS Art Educators will design the best possible lesson for your group based on your needs and requests. We will try to honor requests for specific art making media, etc. as we are able, but not all requests can be accommodated.

3. IAS requires 1 adult for every 5 children in attendance. Adult chaperones attend/assist with IAS programs FREE of charge.

4. Should you request a multi-generational program, charges will apply for all participating artists (including adults).

5. IAS Group Visit rates are determined by the size of group and the length of the program. Reduced and free rates are available upon request.

6. Group Visit requests should be made at least 2 weeks in advance.

7. Please allow 3 business days for your request to be processed.

8. Submitting this request does not guarantee that your visit has been booked. You will receive an email confirmation when your visit has been reserved.

Rates for Illinois Art Station’s programs vary based on art making opportunities, materials, and length of program. 

Illinois Art Station believes that all children, youth, and teens should have access to quality arts programming, regardless of ability to pay. Pay-What-You-Can tuition and student admission is available for young artists and their families and/or students who can benefit.
