Itsy at Home - ages 1 to 5, FREE

When: Every other Thursday from January 21 through May 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

Itsy at Home provides creative learning through art making for children ages 1 to 5. This six session series will provide you and your little artist with the chance to make art with items you can find right in your own home and with the guidance of one of Illinois Art Station’s very own art educators. Sessions are offered via Zoom and come with a materials list and step-by-step instructions. The best part: it’s totally FREE!

Itsy+ at Home - ages 1 to 5, $8.00

Cost: $8.00 per participant per session
When: Every other Thursday from January 21 through May 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.

Everything you get with Itsy at Home, but a little bit more! Your little artists will engage in art making and creative learning under the guidance of one of Illinois Art Station’s talented art educators, and they receive a special delivery of carefully selected art materials for use during the program. Sessions are offered via Zoom and come with a materials list, step-by-step instructions, and art supplies.

AA3 at Home - ages 6 to 12, FREE

AA3 at Home

Cost: FREE
When: Every other Thursday from January 28 through May 13, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.

AA3 (Art After 3) at Home is Illinois Art Station’s answer to the after school blues! Join us for fun and engaging art making activities that you can do at home. This series allows youth ages 6 to 12 a chance to engage with their peers, stretch their creative muscles, and use their voice through art. Sessions are offered via Zoom and come with a materials list, step-by-step instructions, and are led by an Illinois Art Station art educator.

AA3+ at Home

Cost: $11.00
When: Every other Thursday from January 28 through May 13, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

Just like our regular AA3 (Art After 3) at Home, but more! Each session includes a participant Zoom link, materials list (for items you can find at home), step-by-step instructions, expert guidance and facilitation from one of Illinois Art Station’s very own art educators, and a special delivery of art materials right to your door! This six-session series offers a unique opportunity for kids to create, learn, and connect.

Join IAS in-person beginning in mid-2021 for art classes and studio experiences. For more information, email learn@illinoisartstation.org.

  • Itsy: Children ages 1 to 5 will explore art making, story telling, and develop social and emotional skills.
  • Open Itsy: A drop-in version of our popular Itsy program.
  • AA3: An after school art program with an IAS twist – for ages 6 to 10.
  • Open Studio: Drop-in to experiment with and explore a variety of art making techniques and materials. Available at select times during regular operating hours.
  • Creation Stations: Try your hand at different art techniques and media with these specially curated activities. Available during regular operating hours.

Scholarship Information

Illinois Art Station believes that all children, youth, and teens should have access to meaningful arts programming, regardless of ability to pay. Scholarships for IAS classes (those requiring registration) are available to those who need them. To request a scholarship, please submit the request form below prior to registering for a class. These programs will be available in 2022. Contact our Education Department at learn@illinoisartstation.org for scheduling and capacity information.

  • Early Expressions (Grades PK-2): Experiences focus on social and emotional development and early literacy skills.
  • Puzzling Perspectives (Grades 3-5): Interdisciplinary lessons that highlight the intersection of the arts, math, and science.
  • Visual Conversations (Grades 6-8): Students will explore the language of the visual arts and practice using and creating it themselves.
  • Art and Us (Grades 9-12): Students will examine how art reflects and influences the world around them – how it communicates and can spark change.
